SA Building Surveying provides independent building surveys and specialist damp and mould inspections for residential and commercial clients across the region.

A decade working within local authority housing, developing a thorough understanding of residential building stock, defects, and the regulatory framework that governs them.

A First Class Honours degree in Building Surveying, providing the academic foundation to underpin practical experience with technical rigour.

Our approach to damp & building pathology
Building pathology is the discipline of diagnosing why buildings fail — understanding the root causes of defects rather than simply treating their visible symptoms. It is a rigorous, evidence-based approach that draws on construction science, materials knowledge, and an understanding of how buildings behave over time.
Our specialist knowledge in this area was developed working alongside Mike Parrett — one of the UK's most respected building pathologists and a leading authority on damp diagnosis. Mike's work has shaped how the profession understands moisture in buildings, and his influence is central to how we approach every damp and mould inspection we carry out.
This means we investigate before we recommend. We don't arrive with a treatment plan already written — we look at the evidence, identify the cause, and give you an honest assessment of what needs to be done and what doesn't.

We have no commercial relationship with remediation contractors or treatment companies. Our recommendations are based solely on what we find.
